Within natural realms, possums are food for bigger animals like foxes. Studies show that the scent of fox urine is so potent that it wards off the possums almost instantly. One can find such scented products in any hardware store. The idea is to simply apply the powder in areas frequented by possums and the odor does the rest.
Set a trap
Another procedure for possum removal is by setting up a trap. Try a smaller trap and bait it with goodies that the critters find hard to resist. The type of bait can be easily found out by looking at the kind of food products they frequently plunder. Possums are very observant creatures, meaning that, if they sense anything wrong at a site, then they will take a full analysis of the place before acting. So, keep in mind that the bait must be in its original packaging. A more effective approach is to powder all encroachment areas except the area containing the trap and bait. This mostly results in a successful capture of the possum.
